I just want to start out by saying that all three of the choices I have on here are quality, professional products. I would not recommend anyone to buy a cheap iron that will only last you a month before it breaks. Irons like that generally have plates that will give you trouble and leave your hair feeling dry and frizzy. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 7 years now, so I am advising on personal experience. These are my genuine opinions 🙂
1)CHI- Price: 89$
The chi is something I would recommend to someone who does not need to flat iron their hair every day. The ceramic plates are sufficient enough for someone who doesn’t have very textured or curly hair. This product does heat up very quickly to a temperature that is good for straightening, but it only comes with an on/off option. There is no way to adjust the heat exactly, so If you are not very experienced with flat irons I would probably recommend a different route.

2) Babyliss Pro titanium nano – Price: 119$ (varies with size options)
I personally like this option because of the plates. Titanium flat irons/hair straightener allow for faster heat transfer, which means even more immediate and superior results, no matter the hair’s condition. It relies on infrared heat and negative ion technology to enhance your hair’s hydration and shine. Infrared heat seals in your hair’s natural oils and moisture, resulting in shiny, smooth, healthy locks. Another good point of this product is that it has an adjustable heat option, so you can start lower and increase until you’re at a comfortable heat.

3) Kermin G3 – Price: 149$ (varies with color options)
The plates on this product are similar to the titanium. Taken directly from the kermin website, they explain “Tourmaline is a crystal-born silicate material that aids in the smoothing process by generating 20 times more moisture-locking ions than any other type of hair straightener plate. Tourmaline generates the extra negative ions needed to counteract the positive ions found in dry and damaged hair. The result? Smoother, silkier hair that is resistant to frizz and flyaway strands. Plus, this specialized ion field technology seals in the hair’s natural oils, thus protecting delicate strands from repeated heat exposure.” What I like about this product is that it comes with a free mat/carrying case that is heat protected. It heats in under 30 seconds, with an adjustable wheel for temperature. It also comes with a three year warranty straight from the manufacturer. If youre going to spend money on a good product, thinking about all of the bells and whistles that this one comes with, the to top it off with the 3 year warranty? You cant really go wrong!

As a final note, anyone who puts heat onto their hair should ALWAYS use a heat protecting spray or lotion first. Here are a few affordable products from reliable, professional brands. They can all be mixed and matched or even cocktailed together to make a super product specifically for your hair type.
